Common Collin Co Class A Misdemeanors


Most Common Class A Misdemeanors in Collin County


possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 3 under 28 grams (usually possession without a prescription of drugs such as codeine, vicodin, lortab, lorcet, barbituates, special K, THG, etc...).

possession of marijuana (between 2 and 4 ounces),

• possession of a prohibited weapon or unlawful carrying,

• theft between $500.00-$1500.00 (this can include traditional theft of property, theft by check, theft of services, shoplifting, employee theft, etc…)

DWI with Open Container in immediate reach,

DWI 2nd (a second Driving While Intoxicated offense),

• criminal mischief (causing damages between $500.00 and $1500.00),

• assault causing bodily injury (or offensive touching),

• assault involving spouse (domestic violence)

• terroristic threat,

• burglary of a motor vehicle (or coin operated machine)

• failure to identify a fugitive from justice (usually failing to identify yourself as a fugitive by giving false name),

• resisting arrest, and


- deadly conduct.


Collin County Courthouse - Misdemeanors

If you or someone you know has been arrested for a Class A Misdemeanor or Class B Misdemeanor in any town or city that is within Collin County, Texas, the Class A or Class B Misdemeanor charge will be adjudicated at the Collin County Misdemeanors Courthouse located at 1800 N. Graves Street in McKinney, Texas at Southeast corner of University (highway 380) and Graves Street.


If your loved one is currently
in Collin County jail following a Class B or Class A Misdemeanor arrest, they will be brought over to the Collin County Misdemeanor Courthouse on their Court date. You can check on the status of their case here.
